Part D:Conservation efforts at Jurong Lake Park/Conclusion
The park management officials put up signs to tell people not to swim, litter and fishing. They also hired workers to clean the park. But i think that they should put more rubbish bins around as i don't see many rubbish bins around.I think that it is because park users are lazy to look for rubbish bins to
throw their rubbish so they just littered it into the pond.park users are breaking the rules, they littered into the pond.I think that the park management officials should do something about it. Some rubbish may be poisonous, and so will harm the animals in the pond.although they did not do a perfect job,but i think that they have at least done something about it.And if the actions that i mentioned can be carried out,it would be less people littering. It is very good that conservation efforts is taken, there are recycle bins in the park.I think that park users should also take responsiblity, they should not litter in the park. They should conserve the park as they uses the park for jogging or any other activities. Our
school also uses the park to have 2.4km run.jurong lake park brings us many benefit, sowe should not destory it.In my opinions, park users should follow the rules and not break it so that we will have a clean park for us. I believe that if we appreciate and protect the natural environment in jurong lake park,it will be much more beautiful than now. The easiest way we can proect the natural environment is by not harming the animals there.I think that the park management should also organise activities such as cleaning the park.i think that people should join 'jurong lake run'.Jurong Lake Park is important to us! So,please conserve it,thank you! :D

Part C: Impact of Man on Jurong Lake Park.
The impact that Man has on the park is very great. There is evidence almost everywhere that Man had beenthere. Lots of litter is found in the water and on the land as well. There is also an evidently obvious layer of grease on top of the water surface. This leads to the suffocation of the fishes and causes them to die.

Solenopsis invicta(fire ant)
Fire ants bite only to get a grip of its prey/victim and then sting (from the abdomen) and inject a toxic alkaloid venom called solenopsin, unlike many other ants, which bite and then spray acid on the wound. Humans find this a painful sting, It can be related to a burn—hence the name fire ant—and the after effects of the sting can be deadly to sensitive individuals. The venom is both insecticidal and antibiotic.
Plants
Cocos nucifera
When they immature are known as tender-nuts or jelly-nuts and may be harvested for drinking.Coconuts are different from any other fruits because they contain a large quantity of "water" . When mature they still contain some water and can be used as seednuts or processed to give oil from the kernel, charcoal from the hard shell and coir from the fibrous husk. The oil and milk derived from it are commonly used in cooking and frying;soaps and cosmetics is widely produced from coconut oil . The clear liquid coconut water can be used to create alcohol, within is also a refreshing drink.Material used to make a furnishing and decorating come from the husks and leaves .Many societies use it as a cultural and religious significance.
Part A:Introduction to the Jurong Lake Park
Jurong Lake (Chinese: 裕廊湖 ; Malay: Tasik Jurong ; Tamil: ஜூரோங் ஏரி) is a 70ha freshwater lake and reservoir located in the western region of Singapore.Part of the water supply for the country comes from this lake, which is served as a reservoir. The lake is surrounded by parkland, which is used for recreation events for nearby residents in Jurong East and Jurong West New Towns.January 2006,a landscaped sanctuary called Jurong Lake Park was built around the perimeter of the lake. Also, a 2.8 kilometre water promenade along Jurong Lake Park allowed residents to participate in watersports. When we went to the Jurong Lake Park,we were mesmerise to see the park in such a clean state, but when we came to the lake,it told a different story. It was cramped with rubbish. While we continued on our jouney we saw a lot of unripe pongpong fruit on the ground, chopped down trees and a lot of foreign workers cutting the grass.Soon the group 'dispersed'.Half of the group saw tiny grasshoppers which were very difficult to take picture of,plus a ants nest, red ants. The other half say that they saw an eagle but it was pretty unclear and small.Honestly, the park was quite clean due to the fact that the people dumped their rubbish in the lake instead of in the rubbish bin. Also, people shouldn't chop down trees unneccesarily, especially if it does no harm.
